The Company


With the production volume of 6 million bottles in 2006 and turnover of 35 million USD, the Yerevan Brandy Company is the leader in Armenian spirit market, exporting 92% of its production to 25 countries of the world. Since 1998 the Yerevan Brandy Company is a member of French Group Pernod Ricard
ARARAT is a modern brand with a rich history, which traces back to the year 1887 when brandy production was founded by a first guild merchant Nerses Tairyants on the base of the first Armenian distillery constructed by him as far back as 1877 on the site of the former fortress of Yerevan.
It was in 1899 that the factory was bought by a Russian Commercial Industrial Company “Shustov and Sons”, which installed a new stage for the rapid development of the factory for those times.



In 1920 the Factory was nationalized and the “Ararat Trust” was established.
In 1953 the brandy works removed into new premises (the acting building of today’s Yerevan Brandy Company) - equipped with new facilities and necessary conditions for improvement of the brandy quality and growth of the aging capacities of the production.
Beginning from 1998 the YBC joined the French Pernod Ricard Group and during this short period the brandies produced in the factory were awarded with a number of honorary diplomas and medals.

Ani



Aged 6 years. 42% proof.
Ani is prepared out of 6-7 brandy spirits.
Has a bright, clear and amber color.
The flavors are those of rich and dense fruits.
On the palate soft hints of chocolate and vanilla are released.
It perfectly serves as a base for cocktails or as an aperitif with ice.
Ani is a city of 1001 churches.
In X-XI centuries Ani was the capital of old Armenian Kingdom of Bagratunis.





Otborny

Aged 7 years. 42% proof.
A blend of superior quality, Otborny is mild and smooth like velvet and has a characteristically distinguished after taste.
In its flavoring bouquet the taste of port wine is rather prominent.
It is easily imbibed and has a very pleasant fragrance.
It is advised to drink as an aperitif or digestive.
The brandy is fine with fruits.
“Otborny” is the first Armenian vintage brandy.
Created in 1902 by the famous Armenian cellar master Mkrtich Musinyants, Otborny delivers its name from the Russian word meaning “selected”.
Otborny was the very brandy purveyed to the Russian Royal Court at the beginning of the XX century.

Akhtamar


Aged 10 years. 42% proof.
More than 12 sorts of brandy spirits are used in the coupage of this brandy.
It has an incongruent aroma.
The palette of flavors includes nuances of chocolate and orange.
Exquisite digestive.

Traditionally consumed to celebrate love and passion.
The Island Akhtamar is situated on the Lake Van, where in the X century was the residence of Armenian Kings.
The name of the Island is taken from a legend about the love of the Princess Tamara to a young man.



Prazdnichny

Aged 15 years. 42 % proof.
Blending of 16 brandy spirits.
Combination of notes of dry fruits and eastern spices is distinct in the flavor of this brandy.
Classical digestive. A fine festal present.
A bottle of Prazdnichny is the best companion for festive moments such as betrothal ceremonies and other family events.
This masterpiece created by the famous Armenian brandy makers in 1964 is a symbol of happiness shared with friends.

Nairi


Aged 20 years. 41% proof.
Blending of 18-20 different brandy spirits.
The diversity of its flavoring nuances is unique:
taste of walnuts, cedar notes, as well as the flavor of prunes and ripe pear.
